The Queensland Symphony Orchestra is based in Brisbane in the state of Queensland, Australia. The orchestra performs both classical and modern pieces and is Queensland’s largest performing arts organization and a vital contributor to the culture of the state. Under the direction of conductor Johannes Fritzsch, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra performs classical works from Beethoven and other legendary musical figures, in addition to acting as a supporting musical ensemble for national and international acts who have made their names in the opera, pop-rock, and blues genres.
The orchestra also serves the community on a local and national level by providing educational programs for students of various ages, offering workshops for corporations and businesspeople on unleashing creativity, making appearances at local art and music festivals, and providing support for Australia’s dance and opera companies.
